Great location, but noisy nights
The West Plaza Hotel boasts a superb location right in the heart of the city, making it incredibly easy to explore nearby attractions like Cuba Street and Te Papa. The spacious rooms are generally well-appointed and the staff went above and beyond during check-in, ensuring I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
Unfortunately, my nights were disrupted by the noise from a neighboring establishment that started playing loud music as early as 4:30 am. While the hotel itself was quiet, this external noise rendered sleep quite difficult on multiple occasions, which was disappointing. Additionally, the paintwork in my room appeared quite dated and could do with some refreshing.

The central location provided easy access to attractions like the Te Papa museum and numerous dining options. The staff were friendly and attentive, especially when addressing our parking concerns. However, the room showed signs of needing refurbishment, with dull paint and some grouting issues in the bathroom. A neighboring business played loud music early in the morning, disrupting sleep despite the hotel itself being quiet.
